What I'm working on

Pre-holiday preps: What does that mean for an Indie?

Classic question from my parents: "Will you be able to stop working completely during the holiday?"

I'll have to be honest: probably not. However, I definitely prepare a lot, so it's only the minimum. My article and newsletter are written the weekend before we leave, and I've already published the last stable version of RocketSim and MCP Beast.

As an indie, work never stops. Emails won't be answered if I don't do it. I don't have the luxury of a team taking care of all incoming tasks. I won't be emailing everyone directly, and I only briefly open my MacBook when it's really needed, but I always bring my Mac. Honestly, I'm fine with it. It's part of being an entrepreneur, and I always find spots during the holidays when the kids are already sleeping, and my wife is out playing sports or something similar.

Summer always feels like a moment to slow down, reflect, and look forward. July and August have traditionally been very productive for me, and part of it is due to the early holiday we always have.
